 Whether you are searching for a home church, a place to worship, or a group of Christians to know, or just visiting the North Florida area, Northside Church of Christ is the place for you.. We are created by the Almighty God and He desires a relationship with His creation.   

God does not force us into that relationship, rather God instilled within His creation intrinsic free will.  As part of that free will, we make the choice to obey or disobey God’s commands daily.  The life of a true follower of God is not easy.  God does not promise us a life of luxury or a life without trials.  In fact, God uses trials in our lives to draw us closer to him.  

All of us deal with trials and temptations and all men have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:22-23).   But we are fortunate in that God knows us.  He loves us.  And He is waiting to help us.  Even with our issues, we can have a relationship with God and He will help us overcome those issues if we follow Him.

 What to expect at Northside

At Northside, the first thing you can expect is a warm welcome from a group of people who are sincerely glad you are with us.  You will be our honored guest as we worship God together in “spirit and truth”.  John 4:24

New Testament Worship:   Simple, Uncomplicated and Moving

God commanded us to worship Him “decently and in order” (I Corinthians 14:40).

Among early Christians we read about in the New Testament, worship was something that all believers participated in every Sunday, not something they just watched.  On the first day of EVERY week they would eat the Lord’s Supper and hear preaching (Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 11:23-29). They would fulfil their mutual responsibilities by sharing their prosperity (I Corinthians 16:1-2) as each member had “purposed in their own hearts” (II Corinthians 9:6-7).  We, at Northside, strive to follow these examples which are shared with us in God’s word.

In their assemblies they would all sing (Ephesians 5:19) and pray while various men of the assembly would lead them (I Corinthians 14:15-16). No one person performed the worship, but each worshiped God as commanded by Jesus Christ.   It was simple and powerful, because each person worshiped individually and collectively at the same time. God gave us worship as a time to thoughtfully and prayerfully remember the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, while praising Him for His continual impact in our daily lives.
